Subnautica 2 adaptation route

Subnautica 2 Axum Vision Guide

Axum Vision is the adaptation that turns the Karakorum Power Plant from a sealed alien landmark into something you can actually operate. The route is not hard because of one fight. It is hard because the game asks you to clear several Bloom Nodes without losing the thread.

Quick answer

Axum Vision comes from cleansing the later Angel Comb in the Alien Ruins / Karakorum area. Current sources agree that you need Feedback Resonator to destroy Bloom Cankers from a distance, and PC Gamer also calls out Tadpole Depth Module because the route drops below 250m. Subnautica 2 Guide lists three Bloom Nodes around the Angel Comb: a western node near Observatory Island Caves around 190m, a southern node southwest around 300m, and an eastern node near Karakorum / Metal Farms around 300m. Once cleared, Axum Vision lets you read Axum glyphs and use the Karakorum Power Plant control screens.

Field notes for Axum Vision

This is a multi-stop route

Axum Vision is not one flower and done. Treat the three Bloom Nodes as a loop that returns to the central Angel Comb, then to Karakorum controls.

Feedback Resonator changes the risk

The route expects ranged Bloom Canker clearing. If you try to brute-force it with close movement, the oxygen and panic cost climb fast.

Use the unlock immediately

The point of Axum Vision is reading glyphs and control screens. After the adaptation, go back to the Power Plant path while the route is still fresh.

Before starting Axum Vision

  • Bring Feedback Resonator, Tadpole Depth Module, Rebreather, and markers.
  • Clear western, southern, and eastern Bloom Nodes before returning central.
  • Watch water-color changes as progress clues, not exact completion proof.
  • Return to Karakorum Power Plant controls after the adaptation unlocks.

Axum Vision route plan

Do the Heat Tolerance Angel Comb first

The earlier Angel Comb page is your warm-up. Axum Vision sits much later, near the Alien Ruins and Karakorum route, and assumes you already understand Bloom clearing, oxygen planning, and route marking.

Upgrade before chasing the big flower

PC Gamer says this Angel Comb needs Feedback Resonator and Tadpole Depth Module. The Feedback Resonator matters because close-range blooms can shut before you finish them; the depth module matters because the route goes under 250m.

Follow the purple tendrils, not your memory

The main Angel Comb branches into several purple-tube routes. Follow the tendrils out, clear the connected Bloom Node, then return. If you try to freestyle the whole area, every canyon wall starts to look the same.

Clear the three Bloom Nodes

Subnautica 2 Guide currently lists western, southern, and eastern Bloom Nodes. PC Gamer describes one under the Alien Ruins Research Base, another on a side branch, and a trickier one through a wreck route. Treat the labels as route clues, not exact GPS promises.

Watch for water-color changes

Subnautica 2 Guide notes that clearing Bloom Cankers shifts the infected gray water back toward normal color. That is a better progress sign than guessing whether you hit every growth in the dark.

Return to the central Angel Comb

After the connected nodes are clean, go back to the main Angel Comb and finish the core. PC Gamer says this unlocks Axum Vision, the adaptation that lets you interact with alien devices and start the Power Plant repair route above.

Use Axum Vision immediately at Karakorum

Subnautica 2 Guide says Axum Vision lets you read Axum Radial A glyphs and view the polarized screens in the Upper and Lower Generator Control rooms. In plain terms: it is the key that makes the Observatory chain readable.

Axum Vision checklist

NeedWhy it matters
Heat Tolerance progressYou should already be past the first Angel Comb route.
Feedback ResonatorDestroys Bloom Cankers from range before they close.
Tadpole Depth ModuleThe route drops below comfortable early depth.
Rebreather and oxygen tankThree nodes plus a central return can eat air fast.
Beacon markersMark the central comb, wreck route, and exit line.
Conduit Crystal planningPCGamesN flags an upgrade need near this route.
Power Plant follow-upAxum Vision is most useful once you go to the generator controls.

Do not leave before checking the central comb

The route can feel finished after the third side node because the water clears and the pressure drops. Go back to the main Angel Comb before leaving. Otherwise you will reach the Power Plant and wonder why the consoles still feel dead.
